Burberry Goddess Eau de Parfum

“If you’re vanilla-obsessed, this is the fragrance for you. A warm and sweet gourmand, the three notes of vanilla—vanilla infusion, vanilla caviar, and vanilla absolute—make this the ideal fall and winter scent on its own, or the perfect cozy base for layering other scents on top.” —JR

Dior J’adore l’Or

J’adore l’Or is the first release from famed perfumer Francis Kurkdjian as Dior’s new perfume creation director. His take streamlines J’adore’s classic floral bouquet of ylang-ylang, rose, and jasmine, lending a modern vibrancy for new generations. “Christian Dior was in love with flowers since he was a child with his mother,” Kurkdjian says. “Flowers are the heart of J’adore, and when you zoom in, get rid of the colors and facets you don’t really need, you make it bolder.”

“The latest iteration of Twilly opens with ‘gentle ginger blossom’ and ‘mellow lychee’—but it’s not all fruity sweetness. After a few minutes, the musk base note takes over, and the perfume transforms into a rich, multifaceted fragrance.” —JR

“Featuring a blend of white lavender accord and diva lavender heart notes, YSL’s cooler and fresher Libre Absolu Platine nicely stands apart from the other fragrances in its range (all of which I’m equally obsessed with). A consistent olfactory thread woven through each Libre perfume is a hint of orange blossom absolute, which helps ground this slightly more metallic version.” —TD

“The new Jo Malone English Pear & Sweet Pea is my latest go-to. It isn’t as sweet as you would expect, because it feels fresh and light, which is just what I need to brighten my day,” says West.

Associate beauty editor Katie Intner agrees: “I’ve been a longtime fan of English Pear & Freesia, but Jo Malone’s new English Pear & Sweet Pea has quickly become my favorite daytime scent. The powdery sweet pea and amber softens the English pear, which leaves behind a mellow finish that lasts all day long.”

“This is one of six fragrances from Future Society inspired by the genetic code of extinct flowers. Here, notes of black pepper, bergamot, freesia, aquatic florals, woods, and a wet stone accord mimic the scent of Shorea cuspidata, a towering tree endemic to Borneo last spotted in the wild in 1998.” —JR

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 62 Hair and Body Fragrance Mist

“I think this year people are finally diving deep into fragrance layering—using a scented body lotion before spraying a perfume on, for example,” Sewell says. “Beauty enthusiasts are starting to understand that the process helps prolong their scents, and are spraying two to three different kinds at once to create their own unique blends. I think Sol de Janeiro has played a big role in popularizing the trend.”

This popular mist—a blend of pistachio and salted caramel—can be sprayed on with abandon or layered with your favorite eau de parfum to create your own signature scent. “[I wanted to] create a fragrance that evokes the radiant sun on salty skin and the warmth of the sand,” Sol de Janeiro perfumer Vincent Kuczinski says. That was more than achieved, and in turn, this ultrapopular scent reinvigorated the whole category of body mists this year.
