This contemporary home in Mumbai is defined by geometry and play of contrasts
For the clients, the understated sophistication and emotional warmth of a home defined the brief’s very soul. Studio Unit93 Designs translated this vision into a contemporary home in Mumbai, where luxury takes an artistic turn amid the city of dreams. Geometry of Grace—a 2,600-square-foot home at Le Palazzo in south Mumbai, redefines urban opulence through an emotional and restrained language—where stone, light, and texture converge. Working within a rigid structural grid, the designers turned constraints into opportunities, integrating curves into linear frameworks and concealing lighting within precise junctions, to craft a seamless spatial experience that feels effortless in its execution.
As Bhavin and Rishit, founders of Unit93 Designs, reflect: “For us, luxury isn’t loud—it’s in how silence, shadow, and texture speak to one another. Geometry of Grace is our meditation on balance—where design whispers, never shouts.” Moreover, arches soften the geometry of strong lines, while subtle contours and layered materials lend rhythm to the spaces.
With each room coming alive as a new chapter, rich in colour, contrast, and character, the spatial layout is more than just a series of rooms. Here, black and gold play in perfect sync, while marble inlay and sculpted arches set the bold rhythm of the striking double-height living area, which becomes the heart of the home. What follows is a custom flooring guided by a wave-inlay motif —a signature gesture by Unit93 —that ensures the transition is intentional and artful. The main idea is letting the motif course through the flooring like a quiet current, binding the spaces together in a seamless continuum. Guided by light, the design evolves from morning calm to evening drama, creating a cinematic rhythm that breathes life into the home.
What’s more interesting is an unexpected pause at the home’s core—a glass-encased grove that holds a space for nature. This biophilic touch softens the richness around it, acting as a symbolic link between interior calm and the organic world outside. A vibrant dining niche, drenched in emerald green with hints of burnt orange, follows the flow. The bold palette transforms it into a spot that feels both dramatic and comforting.
The kitchen unfolds in a tropical granite palette, grounded, sleek and warm. The natural grains and soft sheen of the surfaces, along with the veining pattern, lend an effortless elegance with a touch of organic charm.
