A local interior designer is pleased to be serving clients from across Manitoba.
Lee-Ellen Green is the franchisee of the new Decorating Den Interiors location, which allows her interior design business, Lee-Ellen Green Designs, to provide unique products to her clients.
“After working for others, it was time to go out on my own,” said Green, who was previously was an in-store designer for a furniture store and has been a bathroom and kitchen designer. “I love transforming spaces into a reflection of the client’s personality and creating a functional, beautiful place. This way, this is an opportunity for me to expand. I’m a full-service decorator now. I can do anything. Because I have the experience in renovation, I can help them with that. If they want décor, I can do that. I can help with exteriors, products or colours I can work with.”
Operating out of her West St. Paul home, Green travels to the homes of her clients across the province and beyond to help re-imagine their living spaces.
“Each project brings on its unique questions and solutions,” Green said. “But for the most part, what I want to do is help people find the right layout and products for their home. We’ll do a drawing, get a 3D plan for them to walk through the room. If folks just wants a refresh, I can do that. If they want to rearrange what they have, I can do that. If they want all new furniture, we sit down and find out what isn’t working and I help them find that solution.”
Indeed, finding solutions is what Green loves most about her job.
“What’s most gratifying is helping them find that end result,” she admitted.
While things are always changing in the design world, one trend Green is happy to see lately is a bold return to colour.
“Colour is back,” she said. “For a while there was a lot of neutral, beige on beige, or ‘greige’. Bring on the colour. I think everyone’s ready to liven things up. People are taking chances. Kitchen cupboards will be colour now, instead of white or dark brown. You’re just seeing it everywhere.”
Green operates Manitoba’s only Decorating Den Interiors franchise, serving clients across Manitoba and into northwestern Ontario. For more information, visit lee-ellengreendesigns.com
