There are 6 different ways to conceal television cords:

Installing an electric outlet

Interior designer Amelia Strat told Martha Stewart that one way is having an electrician install an electric outlet right behind the flat-screen television.

This particular method is inexpensive and very effective.

She explained: “This way, the power cord can be neatly wrapped up and tucked behind the TV.

“Usually, this isn’t super expensive, as most people choose to place their TV in a location that’s already near an outlet.”

Try a cord cover

Another essential investment – a cord cover is a thin plastic cover used to hide any and every cord.

They can be installed directly on the wall or discretely hidden beside the baseboards.

“Most cord covers can be painted to match the color of your walls, so they can blend in more seamlessly,” advised another home expert, Abbe Fenimore.

Using a cable zipper

To tuck away those visible wires connected to your cable box or wifi router, using a handy dandy cable zipper is proposed.

To start, make sure the desired cables are neatly bundled up. Then you just take a cable zipper to tighten them up.

Interior expert Mark Lavender explained: “This way, the cables stay contained and organized in one place.

“And can be attached to the wall (or behind a media console) with the provided self-adhesive mounts.”

DIY cable organizer kit

For this particular plan, you’ll need a drywall saw.

Next, you want to use the saw to cut out a small portion of your wall directly behind the television.

Then simply install the flat panel cable organizer kit and place the wires through the opening.

Conceal the wires through furniture

When rearranging your furniture, keep in mind some consoles can actually help hide any pesky TV cables dangling around.

Interior expert, Emma Beryl said: “This way, you can drill one small hole into the back of the furniture item, snake your wires through, and plug it into the wall as you normally would.”

Utilize your home décor

Besides using furniture, some home decor also comes in handy when trying to conceal visible cables.

Mark advised: “If you have a console below your flat-screen TV, try placing a stack of books in front of the hanging cords to hide them.”

Other home accessories such as houseplants, candles, leaning artwork can also be utilized to tuck away wires without having to make major changes to the walls.

And while you may be dealing with television cables, a mom shared how fed up she was dealing with her children losing their electronic cables.

The clever mom came up with a solution so the chargers would stop being misplaced.

“We have been using this zipper pouch system and it has worked so well for us,” she said.

The woman shared how each clear pencil case had a different colored zipper.

Along with other simple tricks shared, she concluded this was the way to go.

She said: “If you ever find a cord laying around, you’ll know exactly what it is and where it belongs.”
