A suspect has been arrested after materials to make a bomb were found at a home in Walnut Cove. Authorities said the King Police Department and the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on Neal Road on Tuesday. Officials said this was connected to someone shooting into an unoccupied vehicle on Monday at the Walmart on Ingram Drive. Investigators said they identified Walnut Cove resident Larry Keaton Brown, 72 as the suspect. In the home, detectives said they found explosive devices and materials, so the Winston-Salem Police Department’s bomb squad was called in for assistance. Officials said the neighborhood was evacuated until the bomb squad was able to determine that the area was safe. Law enforcement said Brown was arrested and placed in Stokes County Jail with a bond set at $110,000. King police said they charged Brown with one count of damage to personal property and one count of discharging a firearm in the city limits. Stokes County Sheriff’s Office said they charged Brown with two counts of resisting, obstructing, and delaying, and one count of possession of weapons of mass destruction.
