Woman Renovating House Speechless Over What She Finds In Husband’s Closet
A pregnant woman organizing a massive clearout ahead of the new baby’s arrival was left stunned at what she discovered in her husband’s closet.
Clint and Freya, who live on the south coast of the U.K., have a baby due in a matter of weeks. To prepare, Freya had been “going through everything” in the house to make sure they have room for the new arrival.
“It’s amazing how much you just stuff in cupboards when your house is upside down,” she told Newsweek.

Freya didn’t realize quite how amazing it would be until she started going through her husband’s things and, in particular, his wardrobe.
When it comes to clothes, there are plenty among us who would admit they have a tendency to hoard, and this is especially true in the U.K.
A 2022 survey conducted by the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) found that the UK’s wardrobes are home to some 1.6 billion items of clothing that go unworn.
The WRAP study found that the average UK adult has 118 items of clothing in their wardrobes, of which 26 percent, or 31 items, went unworn in the previous year.

It’s concerning numbers and undoubtedly part of what is a global issue with textiles and fashion thought to account for around 10 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions.
But Clint’s issues are a little different to the average clothes hoarder, as Freya found out and later shared in a video posted to her TikTok account @richard_and_russell.

Freya said they usually use the account to “post about our dogs” but made an exception in this case. In the video, she takes viewers on a tour of what she found in his wardrobe, which amounted to shoes. Lots and lots of shoes.
In fact, as Freya reveals on the clip, she even discovered her husband has three of the same pairs of shoes. Some are present minus shoe laces, while there are at least two odd shoes that have been kept for reasons unknown.
To highlight the sheer number of shoes he owes, Freya lined them up against the wall of one room with the line eventually leading out and into another where it continued all the way around the outside.
All told, Clint owns a jaw-dropping 58 pairs of shoes. The discovery left Freya in shock.
“I knew he had a big shoe and clothes collection but when I started to get them out I didn’t realize quite how big!” she said.” He also really likes beaten-up old shoes as you can probably see.”
Freya said when she confronted Clint, asking him why he had so many, his response was simply that he “just loves shoes.” Thankfully, his love of shoes has not gotten in the way of him doing the right thing for his family and peace of mind.
“He has now trimmed down his collection but not by much,” Freya said. “They now are spread across three storage boxes and I’m convinced he hasn’t even opened one of them since they went in.”
It’s progress. Baby steps, but progress nonetheless.
