Nicholas Asamoah, a renowned Ghanaian fashion designer, has expanded his horizons with an oil-based perfume line, Nicoline Perfumes.

Having styled many celebrities, including screendiva Nana Ama McBrown and gospel musician Empress Gifty, among others for over a decade, Nicholas is arguably touted as one of the best stylists in Ghana.

With his dream to explore more ventures in the creative space, Nicoline has decided to expand his brand with the production of cologne.

Speaking to Asaase News, the young fashion designer said, “I love perfumes and I love to smell good always. I am very particular about my choice anytime I go to a perfume shop.”

“So I decided to create a sample for myself and people actually liked it. So i said, why don’t i turn it into something that i like to do for myself and generate money for me?”

23 varieties

Nicoline Perfumery comes in 23 different fragrances with interesting names like Scandal by Night, Good Girl Gone Bad and Guilty Absolut, amongst others. Nicholas explained that he chose to put in more variety due to the demand from lovers of cologne.

“Any perfume lover wants to have like five, six, or seven perfumes, so if I do less, I limit myself. If I do more, I expand to enrich more people. The more varieties of perfume you get, the more you get everybody getting the kind of smell that they want.” Nicholas said.

Distinct brand

The young stylist also revealed that his brand is clearly distinctive from other brands on the market. He explained that his product is a mixture of oil-based redolence and the fragrance.

“What makes Nicoline Perfumes different is that they have both the fragrance and the oil base that allow them to last for more than 24 hours on the body until the user takes a bath.”

He also wish The fragrance market in Ghana is poised for growth, and this launch marks a significant step forward. Nicoline’s entry into the industry will undoubtedly inspire other Ghanaian stylists to explore new avenues for personal brand expansion.
